Welcome to Things Worth Reading
Books worth your time. Reading that shapes your life.
The Preacher of Ecclesiastes is right:
“Of making many books there is no end” (Ecclesiastes 12:12).
And he lived in a time when publishing wasn’t a click of a button.
The fact is, most books aren’t worth your time.
I hate to say that. I’m a writer, and I love writers. I don’t think we need fewer books. They all serve a purpose. But just as each body metabolizes food differently, each of us needs the right books for our souls.
In a world where more is published in a day than one could read in a lifetime, how can we know what is really worth reading?
That’s where I aim to help.
I read a lot of books each year (around 100), and I’ve tracked them for at least a decade. I’m selective about what I read. I don’t stick with books I don’t think are worth my time. And over the years, I’ve discovered some great things worth reading.
Things Worth Reading is a place where I share books that are actually worth your time. Books that stay with you, that shape how you think, that help you see the world more clearly, and that make you feel more alive.
I can’t promise you’ll like everything I recommend. I wouldn’t trust you if you did. We all have different tastes. But I promise that whatever I offer will be because I truly think it’s worth it.
Here’s what you can expect:
A handful of books each month that are genuinely worth reading.
Curated lists around themes, authors, and genres.
Occasional reflections on why certain books matter, and why others don’t.
A steady focus on reading that shapes your life, not just fills your time.
I won’t keep up with everything that’s trending on BookTok or sitting on the New York Times bestseller list. I’m not looking for trends. I’m looking for substance. Some of what I share will be very old. Some will be new. A lot will be in between. The only filter is what is good.
If you want things worth reading, this is the place for you.
